Portraits are probably what I find the hardest. I believe it takes confidence and experience to walk up to strangers, strike up a conversation and ask if they would mind you taking their photo. For that reason my portraits are for now only of friends and family.
Until my late teens architecture was one of those thing I never payed much attention to. Now, however, architecture is one of my favourite features to look at when I travel to a new city. I try to pay attention to not only how a building or structure looks in its surrounding environment, but also how it absorbs light from and cast shadows on, its settings. When photographing structures I try to capture different element like lines, shapes and texture, but also rhythm and age.
I love creating black & white photos, but I am still working on mastering the process of coverting colour images into b&w. Depending on the subject I prefer my b&w photos toned down, rather than dominated by high contrasts. I like the mood that soft tones create. If you have any suggestions on how to improve my images then feel free to send me tips.
